About us
Some of us work on the front line, others are in charge of assignments, and above all we are passionate about the various IT professions. That's why we decided to join forces to form the "Yotech" entity.
Aware of the environmental impact of commuting to and from work in our cross-border region of Geneva, we have adopted a structure based on contemporary means of communication.
With no fixed office, we have the option of meeting online, at our clients' premises or in shared office structures (co-working) in Switzerland and France. This decentralised administration gives us the opportunity to think differently and provide our customers with additional advice on sustainable development.
Our reputation was quickly established by the end of 2014, and every day we keep in mind that reputation is the greatest recognition you can have.
Active in the field of information systems for nearly 20 years, and specialising in Odoo since 2009 (formerly Tiny ERP and OpenERP), we have been
Odoo partners since 2015. We are pleased and proud to offer a complete range of services for managing a business, an association, or any other activity.
Nicolas, the founder
Before talking to Nicolas Trubert, you might expect to meet a geek, a developer, with all the clichés that entails.
You soon realise that his poised, well-anchored demeanour reflects his vision of the profession.
By creating YOTECH, he is providing a solution for all those who, like him, want to promote sustainable development.
The origins of YOTECH
1997, fresh out of engineering school, Nicolas and one of his classmates were already thinking about entrepreneurship. However, they decided to postpone the project, preferring to gain experience before taking the plunge.
His sector of activity being favourable to him, he first worked for a major household appliance group for the European market. He then moved into the field of payphones and smart card readers.
A problem linked to the relocation of the engineering profession forced him to leave this sector. He then joined a web agency in Geneva to take up a position closer to the customer.
Commuting, a creative constraint
Anyone who has to make a commute to work has already tried carpooling. That's what Nicolas is doing with someone from his village.
Colleagues, and sharing the same convictions, this solution remains satisfactory for several years. The traffic problems caused by the start of preparatory work on CEVA in 2012 are an opportune time to reflect on the subject. He found it paradoxical to impose routes in congested areas on tradesmen who could be working in a more EASY way.
His boss at the time accepted his request to telework, but only for one day a week. The legislation between the two countries did not make it easy to set up teleworking.
Even today, apart from exceptional conditions linked to Covid, if a Swiss employee works more than 25% in France, he or she is automatically affiliated to URSSAF in France. This applies to their entire salary, even if the employee works exclusively for Swiss clients. This is a restrictive measure that will not encourage teleworking in the Geneva area.
The entrepreneurial spirit is back with YOTECH
In 2014, YOTECH was set up with another IT specialist from the Arve Valley. At the end of the year, his Swiss network entrusted his team with two major projects. At that point, we had to structure ourselves for this new market.
It's a complex task. Managing invoicing and salaries through a third-party company is too costly and causes the company to lose control of the financial flow. YOTECH SUISSE was naturally created to simplify the administrative side of the business. The "Odoo" solution was obviously chosen to manage the two companies seamlessly.
Thanks to the implementation of these various tools and his new entrepreneurial status, Nicolas and his colleagues have been able to significantly reduce their journeys: from four per week to just a few return trips per quarter, for example.
Recruitment, a major challenge for YOTECH
Today, recruiting qualified IT specialists remains a real challenge in the Arve Valley. YOTECH France wants to train AGILE IT specialists to meet this demand.
Remote working is one of the possible future solutions for recruiting and guaranteeing quality of life for employees.
The YOTECH philosophy
The team of around eight people has been built up over time and through various associations. YOTECH has a wide range of activities, but they can be summed up in two words: Safety and Environment. Nicolas and his decision-making partners have always defended the idea of ethical and respectful computing:
- Your data: by setting up systems to ensure compliance with the RGPD
- Your equipment: by reconditioning your appliances and combating programmed obsolescence
- Energy: by favouring remote servers that consume less energy
- Time: by encouraging teleworking where possible
Great stories are for everyone, even when they are written for just one person. If you try to write with a broad, general audience in mind, your story will sound fake and lack emotion. No one will be interested. Writing for a particular person means that if it's authentic for one, it's authentic for the rest.
